Vasyl P. Osipchuk

Born on March 15, 1963, in the village of Ivankivtsi, Koziatyn district, Vinnytsia region. Graduated from high school. On July 28, 2015, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He completed preparatory courses at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Ground Forces Academy (formerly the Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny, in Lviv). He served as the commander of the engineering-sapper platoon of the 1st mechanized battalion of the 28th separate guards mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0666 (field post V0095), in the urban-type settlement of Chornomorske, Kominternivskyi district (since 2016 - Lymanskyi district) of Odesa region). Since 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On March 24, 2016, senior lieutenant Osypchuk was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest while performing his official duties near the village of Verkhnij Minchenok, Stanytsia Luhanska district, Luhansk region. On March 29, 2016, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Ivankivtsi, Koziatyn district, Vinnytsia region.
