Vasyl S. Mazur (MVS)

Soldier Vasyl Mazur was killed on December 4, 2022, during enemy drone strikes on the positions of Ukrainian defenders near the village of Vodyane in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 21 years old. Vasyl was born in the city of Kalinivka, Vinnytsia region. He stuwas killed at the local school No. 4. Then he obtained the profession of a cook at the Vinnytsia Vocational School No. 7. In his free time, he actively engaged in sports. He loved to play the guitar and read books. He was interested in cooking and the history of Ukraine. When the full-scale Russian invasion began, the young man was abroad. However, he decided to return to his homeland to defend it. He joined the ranks of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He held the position of a grenadier. "My younger brother was a man of word and deed, with a strong character and a bright soul. He was the one who truly and sincerely loved Ukraine..." said Pavlo Mazur. "No words can soothe your burning pain and heal the wounds in your soul. The bright memory of the courageous Hero will forever remain in our hearts," the Kalinivka City Council noted. The warrior was buried in his hometown. Vasyl is survived by his mother, brother, and fiancée.
