Vasyl Volodymyrovich Bohach was born on August 16, 1979, in Volnovakha, Donetsk region. He graduated from Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University. He served in the Security Service of Ukraine. Since 2014, he was on the front line. At home on Vasyl's balcony, the flag of Ukraine always hung. He said: "I am a major of the Security Service of Ukraine, what other flag should I have?! And the neighbors-separatists, let them be afraid, because I won't give them any slack!" In 2015, he was subjected to political repression and spent three weeks in the Bakhmut pre-trial detention center on a fabricated case by the military prosecutor's office. In the pre-trial detention center, Vasyl met other arrested volunteers. After being released, under the pseudonym Ivan Bohdan, he wrote the book "Patriot Prisoners". After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he joined the Azov regiment. On April 4, 2022, he was seriously wounded and was in the hospital at Azovstal. He was killed on May 8, 2022, as a result of a hit by a bunker-busting bomb on one of the bunkers at Azovstal.
