- 22-year-old Sergeant Vasyl Konstantynov (call sign Boroda) died on November 13, 2023 near the village of Makiivka in Luhansk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal shrapnel wounds during enemy shelling. Vasyl was born in the village of Mostove, Mykolaiv region. He grew up and lived in the village of Mykolaivka in the Mykolaiv region. He obtained the profession of an electric gas welder at a vocational school. In April 2021, he was drafted into the regular military service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. In 2022, the young man signed a contract with the 1st (Donetsk) border detachment and began defending his homeland. For a long period, he defended the city of Bakhmut, and after rotation, together with his comrades-in-arms, he again went to defend the eastern direction, where he fought his last battle. "Vasyl was energetic, full of life, sincere in his views and feelings, always faithful to his principles. He believed in Ukraine's victory above all else. He carried many wounded comrades-in-arms off the battlefield! He had ambitious goals and made plans for the future, which he did not have time to realize..." said the deceased's elder sister, Svitlana Khoryshyna. The border guard was buried in the village of Mykolaivka in the Mykolaiv region. Vasyl is survived by his parents, brother, two sisters, and a girlfriend.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
