- Soldier Vasyl Lehach (call sign Paialnyk) was killed on June 1, 2023, on the outskirts of the village of Stupochky in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the defender received fatal injuries. The following month, on July 27, he would have turned 34 years old. Vasyl was born in the village of Novobarovo in the Zakarpattia region. In 2005, he obtained secondary education at the local general secondary school of grades I-II. In 2008, he graduated from the Tiachiv Vocational Lyceum and obtained the qualification of an electrician for power networks and electrical equipment. Since 2015, he has lived in the city of Tiachiv. He worked as a master in the repair of mobile phones and laptops in the "MOBILUX-SERVISE" store, and as an electrician in kindergartens No. 1 and No. 5. He led a healthy lifestyle and was passionate about many things, including electronics. During the full-scale war, the man went to protect his children and relatives from the Russian invaders. He served in the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a riveter in the repair workshop of the technical support platoon of the logistics group. "Vasia knew how to appreciate and be grateful: for a new morning, for a new conquered peak or a simple meeting with friends. No matter how bad the situation was, he always found the positive. Because his uniqueness was the ability to live... He knew how to appreciate every moment... And that's why his favorite expression was the phrase: 'It doesn't matter how many days are in your life, but how much life is in your day.' He was a loving, decent and very kind man, the best dad for our sons. Vasia was unique. Those who were lucky enough to know him closer will never forget him. He was a person to emulate, from whom one could learn a lot. He was always calm, quiet, and at the same time could stand up for himself. He always responded to requests for help: kindness, conscience, politeness, justice, honesty - you don't often find all this in one person, and he was just like that. The most important thing in his life was his family, for which he gave his life! A family for whom he always wanted only the best: the best life, life in a free and safe country," said the wife of the fallen warrior, Alina. The defender is buried at the Central Cemetery in the city of Tiachiv. Vasyl left behind a large loving family: parents Vasyl Yuriiovych and Mariia Ivanivna, sisters Valentyna, Tetiana, Nataliia, brother Ruslan, wife Alina, sons Artem and Mark, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and many other relatives and acquaintances. Posthumously, Vasyl Lehach was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Cross of the Brave". He was also awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Tiachiv City Territorial Community" and received the honorary award "Defender of the Native Land".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
