Vasyl V. Marchuk (Vasyl Vasylovych)

Fighter Vasyl Marchuk was killed in action on May 17, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region. The warrior was 52 years old. Vasyl was born in the village of Vysokopillya in the Kherson region. He stu at the Zelenodolsk Vocational Technical School No. 16. He lived in the village of Topolyne. He worked at the agricultural farm "Olvia." In 2015-2016, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the border troops. He was a passionate football fan, supporting Kyiv's "Dynamo." He played for the local football team "Olvia" and actively participated in numerous football competitions in the district and region. During the full-scale war, he again took up the defense of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 54th separate mechanized brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He held the position of a rifleman-paramedic. He defended Donetsk region. His comrades called him Vasyl Vasylovych. "He was a sincere and reliable person, a caring father and grandfather. He was always smiling and joked a lot. He dedicated his whole life to his family, which he defended twice — in 2015 and 2022," said the deceased's daughter-in-law, Iryna. The defender was buried at the Alley of Heroes in the Central Cemetery of Kryvyi Rih. Vasyl is survived by his wife, two children, a grandson, relatives, and friends.
