Vasyl V. Poida

Born on November 5, 1983, in the village of Nehrovetz, Mizhhiria district, Zakarpattia region. Graduated from the general education school (now the educational and training complex named after Vasyl Rosokha) in the village of Nehrovetz. Served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for mandatory military service. Worked in seasonal jobs. In the summer of 2015, he was mobilized as a volunteer into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as a senior mechanic of the sapper battalion of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1778 (field post V4673), city of Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region). Since the summer of 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On September 18, 2015, around 22:20, soldier Poida was blown up by a tripwire near the observation post of the platoon stronghold of the brigade near the village of Bolotene, Stanytsia Luhanska district, Luhansk region. On September 24, 2015, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Nehrovetz, Mizhhiria district, Zakarpattia region.
