- Main Sergeant Vasyl Tronchuk (call sign Vasylovych) was killedon February 27, 2023 near the settlement of Nevelske in the Donetsk region. While performing his duties, he received fatal injuries during an enemy mortar attack. The defender was 53 years old. Vasyl was born in the village of Nepedivka, Vinnytsia region. Later, he moved with his family to the village of Mykhailyn, where he also finished school. He then obtained the profession of an electrician at the Kozeiatyn SPTU-17. In his youth, he was engaged in sports and loved to play football. In 1987-1990, he served in the military. After demobilization, he worked in his specialty. In 2008, he got a job at the Yuzhefo-Mykolaivskyi sugar factory, where he met his future wife. After the marriage, he lived with his beloved in the village of Shyroka Hreblia, Vinnytsia region. On February 24, 2022, the man without hesitation took up the defense of the Motherland, joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Vasyl served in the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He held the position of an operator in the platoon of anti-tank guided missiles. He went through various hot spots of the front. "My beloved was a sensitive, kind person who loved his family. He always tried to help everyone, never sat idle. He still had so many plans, but... Time has passed, and I still cannot come to terms with this loss. He will forever remain in our hearts," said the warrior's wife, Kateryna Mykhailova. The hero was buried in the Alley of Glory in the village of Mykhailyn, Vinnytsia region. At home, Vasyl was awaited by his wife and loving family.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
