Vasyl V. Varha

Born on August 29, 1984, in the city of Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia region. Completed 9 grades of general education at Uzhhorod Secondary School No. 12 and vocational school specializing in "locksmith." Studied at the Kharkiv Institute. On June 11, 2015, mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Uzhhorod Combined City Military Commissariat. Served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit V0927, in the cities of Sievierodonetsk/Lysychansk, Luhansk region). Since 2015, participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On June 17, 2016, soldier Varga was killed as a result of a mortar shelling by Russian militants in the area of the urban-type settlement of Zaitseve, Horlivka City Council (since September 2016 - Bakhmut district) in Donetsk region. On June 23, 2016, he was buried on the Hill of Glory at the "Kalvaria" cemetery in Uzhhorod. Honorary citizen of the city of Uzhhorod (30.08.2016 - posthumously).
