Vasyl V. Yurchuk

Senior soldier Vasyl Yurchuk was killed on October 8, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Pershotravneve in the Kharkiv region. The defender was just 25 years old. Vasyl was from the village of Lopavsze in the Rivne region. After finishing school, he obtained a profession as a bricklayer-plasterer at Demydiv Higher Vocational School No. 25. He was interested in and passionate about construction, which is how he earned a living. He mostly worked abroad. During the full-scale war, in March 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to defend his homeland from Russian occupiers. He served in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. He was a senior rifleman. "He was always responsible, sincere, honest, and had many friends," noted the soldier's sister Maria. The defender was buried in his native village. Vasyl is survived by his parents, sister, and fiancée. Posthumously, Senior Soldier Vasyl Yurchuk was awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
