Vasyl V. Zavadetskyi (Tadei)

Vasyl Vasylovych Zavadeckyi was born on October 4, 1971, in the village of Holyn, Kalush Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. In May 2022, Senior Sergeant Vasyl Zavadeckyi was called up for military service in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as part of mobilization. Since October 12, 2022, Vasyl Zavadeckyi, as part of a consolidated unit of the Border Guard Service (Type C) of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, honorably and with dignity fulfilled his military duty in the frontline areas of Luhansk Oblast. Vasyl Vasylovych served in the village of Novovodyanove in Luhansk Oblast, where the positions of Ukrainian defenders were under constant pressure from the aggressor. On November 16, 2022, Vasyl Zavadeckyi was killed in combat with the enemy. The body of the border guard was discovered by his comrades after the battle. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to the military oath, Senior Sergeant Vasyl Vasylovych Zavadeckyi was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree.
