Vasyl Y. Borutskyi (Diadia Vasia)

Senior Sergeant Vasyl Borutskyi (call sign Uncle Vasia) was killed on December 12, 2022 in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. While withdrawing from the encirclement, he saved his comrades-in-arms and received fatal wounds. The warrior was 46 years old. Vasyl was born and lived in the city of Chervonohrad, Lviv region. He obtained the profession of a gas welder at the Chervonohrad Vocational School No. 55. In civilian life, he worked as an underground miner in the stationary equipment section at the Vidrodzhennia mine of the SE Lvivvuhillia. He was engaged in boxing. Since 2014, he has been participating in the ATO / JFO in the Donetsk region. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought against the occupiers in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as part of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. He was the commander of a grenade launcher unit. "Dad was always cheerful, despite everything that was in his life. Starting from 2014, he lost many brothers-in-arms and saved many guys. As they said, when he was killed, he was leading the guys out and a fatal bullet hit him... His life motto was: 'Who, if not me?' " - said his daughter Anna Sharyghina. The defender was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in the village of Bendiuha, Lviv region. Vasyl is survived by his wife, daughter, grandson, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
