Vasyl Y. Vekliuk

Veklyuk Vasyl Yosypovych was born on September 25, 1962, in the village of Kolpets (which has been part of the city of Stebnyk since 1977) in Lviv Oblast, where he lived. Since 2014, he participated in the war in Eastern Ukraine. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was killed on March 16, 2022, during a massive artillery shelling near the city of Popasna in the Luhansk region. Farewell to Vasyl Veklyuk took place on March 31, 2022, in the city of Stebnyk at Taras Shevchenko Square. The fallen soldier was buried in his native village.
