- Born on March 26, 1977, in the village of Krasnolyubetsk in the Velykooleksandrivskyi district of the Kherson region. Served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under contract. On March 21, 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Bila Tserkva military commissariat of the Kyiv region. He served in the 1129th anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Air Defense Forces of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1232, city of Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region). Since 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine. The checkpoint near the city of Volnovakha in the Donetsk region, guarded by Senior Warrant Officer V.A. Zabolotny, was shelled by Russian armed formations with heavy artillery, and then sniper fire was opened. Zabolotny received a serious head injury. He was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries on December 4, 2014. On December 7, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Orlivka in the Yampil district of the Sumy region.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
