Viacheslav B. Halkin

Vacheslav Borisovich Galkin was born on January 26, 1973, in the Kyiv region. During his service, Master Sergeant Vacheslav Galkin established himself positively, demonstrating skill while performing difficult tasks and working cohesively in a team. On April 18, 2022, Vacheslav took up the defense of Ukraine and has been continuously carrying out combat missions to defend the Luhansk and Donetsk regions since then. In June 2022, fierce and brutal battles began for the city of Lysychansk in the Luhansk region. Master Sergeant Vacheslav Galkin, as part of his combat unit, took direct part in the defense of the city. On June 27, 2022, on the southeastern outskirts of the Lysychansk oil refinery, the enemy launched an offensive, using tank and artillery shelling. During the battle, Vacheslav Galkin sustained multiple shrapnel wounds that were incompatible with life. For his personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to the military oath, Master Sergeant Vacheslav Borisovich Galkin was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
