Viacheslav D. Radionov (Radik)

Vyacheslav Denisovych Radionov was born on January 16, 1997, in Zaporizhzhia. In 2014, he graduated from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Lyceum-Internat with enhanced military-physical training "Defender." Later, he graduated from the Kharkiv National Air Force University named after I. Kozhedub. He served in the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade. In 2021, he participated in the military parade marking the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence as a MiG-29 pilot. Senior pilot Vyacheslav Radionov was killed in action on February 24, 2022, while evacuating aviation from a missile strike on the airfield in Vasylkiv, Kyiv region. Thanks to his brave actions, the entire fleet of brigade aircraft took to the air, saving them from the missile strike. The pilot's body was found by local residents and handed over to the chaplain. In February, Vyacheslav was secretly buried by Vasylkiv veterans and participants of the territorial defense volunteer formation. On November 24, 2022, Vyacheslav Radionov was reburied in the Alley of Heroes at the cemetery in Vasylkiv, alongside his fellow pilots. For personal courage and heroism displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Vyacheslav Denisovych Radionov was posthumously awarded the title of "Hero of Ukraine" with the Order of the Golden Star.
