Viacheslav H. Mizyn (Dok)

54-year-old combat medic Vyacheslav Mizin (call sign Doc) was killed on September 2, 2022, during the de-occupation of the village of Novovoznesenske in the Kherson region. Vyacheslav was born in the village of Shyroka Hreblya in the Vinnytsia region. He studied at the local school and later obtained a paramedic qualification at the Vinnytsia Medical College. He initially worked at a rural clinic in his profession and then as a medic in a military unit. In his free time, he enjoyed playing football and fishing. At the age of 44, he retired after years of service. However, two years later, the Russo-Ukrainian war began. Since 2015, Vyacheslav served in the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade, carrying out combat missions in the ATO zone. In November 2020, he signed a contract and began serving in the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade as a combat medic. "He was a very good and kind person, the best dad and husband in the world. He was a true patriot, saved the lives of his comrades more than once, and was not afraid to look the enemy in the face. I am very proud of him; he is an example of a real man. I'm sorry we didn't say more often how much we love you. You will always be in our hearts, our Hero," noted his daughter Irina. The serviceman was buried in his native village in Vinnytsia region. At home, Vyacheslav was awaited by his wife Nadiya, 25-year-old daughter Irina, and 8-year-old son Vasya.
