- Soldier Vyacheslav Maksimenko (call sign Tiger) was killed on October 6, 2022, during the liberation of the Kharkiv region. He fought his last battle in the area of the village of Pershotravneve in the Izium district, sustaining fatal injuries during an artillery shelling. The warrior was only 27 years old. Vyacheslav was born in the city of Korostyshiv in the Zhytomyr region. He received his secondary education at schools No. 2 and No. 1, while also studying guitar at a music school. He then entered the Zhytomyr Automobile and Road College of the National Transport University and later the Zhytomyr National Agroecological University. After completing his studies, he was drafted for military service. Subsequently, he worked in various fields both in Ukraine and abroad. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Vyacheslav took up arms to defend Ukraine by joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade as an anti-aircraft gunner. He fought in hot spots in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv regions. "Slava was a kind, caring, loving son, a wonderful guy who never got to experience family life but was the best for his beloved. At just 27 years old, he was a true man, a loyal friend, and the best son! We love you, we pray for you, our son," wrote the mother of the fallen, Halyna. "He was a patriot and one of the best servicemen in our brigade. You should be proud of your son," wrote the commander to the soldier's mother. The warrior was buried at the Alley of Glory in the city of Korostyshiv, Zhytomyr region. Vyacheslav is survived by his parents, younger sister, beloved girlfriend, and friends. Posthumously, the defender was awarded the Order of Courage, III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
