Viacheslav O. Savytskyi (Sava)

Soldier Viacheslav Savytskyi (call sign Sava) was killed on June 8, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. The defender was 25 years old. Viacheslav was born and lived in the village of Kupchychi, Chernihiv region. He studied at the Spaska school. In 2020, he graduated from the National University "Chernihiv Polytechnic". From childhood, he was passionate about football and decided to dedicate himself to sports. In recent years, he played for FC Kudrivka as a defender. In 2022, together with his team, he became the champion and winner of the Chernihiv Oblast Cup. In June 2022, the man was mobilized into the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Viacheslav held the position of gunner in the 81st separate airmobile brigade. He carried out combat missions in various directions of the front. "Slavik was a calm and balanced person both in life and on the football field. His teammates and friends respected him. He loved what he did and his native land, so he went to the front so that we could live in a free Ukraine," said the sister of the fallen. "A whole life ahead, if the Russian invaders had not attacked Ukraine, and he bravely did not go to defend the motherland. A modest, quiet, but purposeful and combat-ready guy who was always ready to come to the rescue," noted on the page of FC Kudrivka. The young warrior was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents, brother, sister, and other relatives and friends.
