Viacheslav S. Zelenko

Soldier Vyacheslav Zelenko (call sign ZeVS) died on April 26, 2023 during the defense against the occupants in the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was 43 years old. Vyacheslav was from the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region. In 1996, he graduated from Nizhyn Vocational School No. 2, where he obtained the profession of an electric gas welder. He worked in his profession all his life, and before the invasion, he was a welder at the Nizhyn Mechanical Plant. In his free time, he loved to travel by bicycle. He had a hobby - he was engaged in metal forging. With the beginning of the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces, and in July 2022 he became a fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Ensign Marko Bezruchko. He was a senior rifleman. "I remember, I grieve. I will carry the memory of my husband as long as I live," said the wife of the fallen soldier. The warrior was buried in the Gunky cemetery in his hometown. At home, Vyacheslav was awaited by his wife Olena, daughter Kateryna, and adopted daughter Yulia. Vyacheslav Zelenko was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
