- Senior Lieutenant Vyacheslav Dimov was killed in action on April 16, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia region. The officer was killed by an enemy anti-tank mine. He was 29 years old. Vyacheslav was born in the city of Zaporizhzhia. He lived in the city of Marganets, Dnipropetrovsk region, since childhood. He stu at the local gymnasium and vocational school. He completed his military service. In 2018, he graduated from the Odesa Military Academy. After graduation, the young officer was sent to serve in a unit of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of commander of the airborne assault platoon of the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade. Later, he became the commander of the reconnaissance platoon. "In the spring, we planned to get married and celebrate a lavish wedding. The war changed our plans. Instead of a luxurious dress, my mother dressed me in a black scarf. But the worst was yet to come - your funeral. I watched as they lowered you into the ground, and with you - our family life, our unborn children, our happy old age. I will never wish anyone to experience this in life. Your life was not in vain, because you have been defending your country all this time. Since 2014, you have been sweating and bleeding in the combat zone for our future. And your death was not in vain. You for me, for Ukrainians, for our freedom and independence. I have had the honor to become the wife of a combat officer, the commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And as long as I live, people will remember you only as a hero who was not afraid of bullets, enemies, or death. Now, you are my guardian angel," wrote the widow of the deceased, Ivanna. "This handsome young man will never see his mother again, will never hug his wife, will never meet with friends... Another young life has been taken by the war! How painful it is that Ukraine is losing its young men and women! Vyacheslav could have had a military career, enjoyed the birth of his children, continued to be a support to his mother... But none of this will ever happen again! He will forever remain young and handsome in the memory of all who knew him! Eternal glory and memory to the Hero!," the Marganets community noted. The officer was buried in the city of Marganets. Vyacheslav left behind his mother, wife, relatives, and friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
