- Defender Vyacheslav Hannich was killed on January 14, 2023, while defending the Zaporizhzhia region. The warrior was 47 years old. Vyacheslav was born in the city of Sumy. After school, he graduated from the Sumy Higher Artillery Command School and the Military Institute of Missile Troops and Artillery. He lived in his hometown, worked, and started a family. He organized the Association of Christian Donors and was an honorary donor himself. He served in the police and held the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was a participant in the ATO. In 2018, the Hannich family moved to the city of Zaporizhzhia. There, at the specialized boarding school "Sichovyi Collegiium," Vyacheslav taught physical education. He was the head of the military-patriotic club "Dzhura." With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man went to defend his native lands again. He fought in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "No one can and does not want to believe that he is no longer with us... I don't know anyone who lived life the way he did... To the maximum! 100%! With complete dedication. He loved, served, helped, befriended, and defended us in this damned war. Sincerely, truly. He just didn't know how to do it any other way. And with this, he won a place in the hearts of those he met on his life's journey," wrote his friend Olga. "I call you and people like you peacekeepers, because thanks to you, our children and women are alive, the cities remain Ukrainian, and the Russian invaders do not go any further... You have left a good memory of yourself on earth. It is an honor for me to be called your friend," wrote his comrade Pavlo. Vyacheslav is survived by his parents, wife, and two children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
