- Staff Sergeant Viacheslav Hulchuk (call sign Slavko) was killed on April 7, 2022, during the battle for the city of Mariupol in Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission with his comrades, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of a hit by an enemy anti-tank guided missile. On April 25, the warrior would have turned 27. Viacheslav was born in the city of Ostrog, Rivne region. He had an unfinished higher education and was studying at the Odesa National Academy of Communications named after O.S. Popov. From 2014 to 2020, he served under contract in the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he was engaged in entrepreneurial activities. In his free time, he loved to go fishing and visit relatives. He was passionate about psychology books. With the start of the full-scale war, the man returned to military service. He fought in the ranks of the separate special purpose unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov". He held the position of sapper in the engineering-sapper platoon of the engineering-sapper company. "My husband adored Ukraine. Being a military man was his calling, and he couldn't imagine life without the army," noted Victoria Hulchuk. The family was unable to bury the hero. At home, Viacheslav was awaited by his mother Inna, father Vitaliy, wife Victoria, and daughter Kira. For his service, Viacheslav was awarded the Orders of "For Courage" III and II degrees (the latter posthumously).Memory Platform 'Memorial'
