Viacheslav V. Kuzmych (Mama)

Sergeant Vyacheslav Kuzmich (call sign Mama) was killed on June 21, 2023, near the settlement of Druzhba in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, the defender sustained a fatal mine and explosive injury. A month before this, he had turned 53 years old. Vyacheslav was born in the village of Yarynyvka, Rivne region. He graduated from Zdolbuniv Secondary Vocational School No. 2 and obtained the profession of a locomotive repair mechanic. He worked as a crane operator at the lower warehouse of the State Enterprise "Sarnenske Forestry." He loved quiet hunting and relaxation in nature. During the full-scale invasion, the man unhesitatingly went to defend his country and his family from the enemy. He joined the 104th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took the position of a machine gunner in the 60th battalion "Polisski Wolves" and went to the front line. "He was not just a father-in-law, but a father and an example for his grandson and two granddaughters. He was a good father, friend, and just a good person. We miss him very much," said the deceased's daughter-in-law, Iryna. The soldier was buried in his native village. Vyacheslav is survived by his wife, two sons, three grandchildren, relatives, close ones, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
