- Soldier Vyacheslav Lanevych (call sign Fora) was killed on July 5, 2023, in a firefight with an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group near the settlement of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. On July 17, the defender would have turned 48 years old. Vyacheslav was born in the city of Kamin-Kashyrskyi, Volyn region. After finishing school, he studied at a vocational school and became a construction master. He then enrolled at the Kharkiv Pedagogical Institute, but was drafted into the army after the third year. After demobilization, he worked at various enterprises. In 2018, he moved to the city of Pryluki, Chernihiv region, where he worked as a senior security guard at the Fora supermarket. On February 24, 2022, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the ranks of the 119th separate brigade of territorial defense. He was the driver of the grenade launcher section of the fire support platoon. "The best, loving man who loved life and always achieved his goal. He strived for peace and victory. Our hero never lost faith in better times, always said that everything would be fine, and believed in our victory. He bravely and courageously went on combat missions every time. Vyacheslav had the respect of his comrades-in-arms, was a reliable friend, and a warrior with a strong spirit. He always showed patience and never complained about how difficult it was," said his wife Olena Symonenko. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Northern Cemetery in the city of Pryluki. At home, Vyacheslav was awaited by his mother, wife, daughter, and grandson.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
