Viacheslav V. Piven (Ptakha)

Senior soldier Viacheslav Pivnev (call sign Ptakha) was killed on January 1, 2023 near the village of Paraskopievka in the Donetsk region, performing his duties at the front line. The fighter was 52 years old. Viacheslav was born in Kyiv. He lived in the settlement of Myrne in the Chernihiv region. He studied at the Ozeryanskaya secondary school. After graduation, he mastered the profession of a tractor driver. He worked in the communication department of the company "Zemlya i Volya". In January 2022, the man went to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a contract. He served in the 163rd battalion of the 119th separate brigade of the territorial defense. He held the position of driver-electrician of the radio station of the electrical support unit of the information and telecommunications unit. From the first days of the invasion, Viacheslav defended the Chernihiv region. Almost immediately, his son Volodymyr joined him as a volunteer. Together, in early December 2022, they went to defend the Soledar direction in the Donetsk region. "He was a courageous defender, always supported his comrades-in-arms, and carried out the orders of the command. His comrades-in-arms and commanders speak of him in kind words. On the last New Year's Eve, he promised his family that he would return with victory and flowers, but it was not to be. We remember, we mourn, we bow to you, our dear Hero," wrote the wife of the deceased, Svitlana. Viacheslav was buried in the settlement of Myrne in the Chernihiv region. He is survived by his wife, children, and granddaughter.
