- Senior soldier Viktor Kitsak (call sign Barista) was killed on August 5, 2023 in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. The warrior was 51 years old. Viktor was born and lived in Chernivtsi. After school, he received secondary specialized education at a local college. He worked as a construction worker. He loved the sea and mountains, travel and adventure. He spent his free time with his loved ones. In the first days of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to go to the front. He initially served in the local Territorial Defense Forces. He held the position of rifleman - grenade launcher assistant. Later, he underwent training in Poland and was transferred to the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the Sumy, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. "He was a very good person and a good brother. He loved children very much, but unfortunately did not have his own. However, there are many children whom he baptized. He also always tried to help everyone," said the deceased's cousin, Maria Kazaku. The warrior was buried on the Alley of Glory in Chernivtsi. Viktor is survived by a brother, a niece, a beloved woman, other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
