Viktor M. Nepyvoda

30-year-old junior sergeant Viktor Nepyvoda was killed on March 11, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Ternі in the Donetsk region. He sustained fatal injuries as a result of a direct hit by a tank shell on the vehicle with radio communication equipment in which he was located. Viktor was born and lived in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region. He studied at the local metallurgical college, but left his studies in the 3rd year and went to work at a factory. He was a pipe cutter at the Interpipe Niko Tube enterprise. In 2021, he decided to change his field of activity and signed a contract with the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 25th separate airborne assault Sich brigade. He carried out combat missions on the territory of the Joint Forces Operation. He met the full-scale invasion of the enemy together with his comrades-in-arms and continued to defend his country from the occupiers. In the summer of 2022, he took the position of the commander of the radio communication unit. During his service, the defender was awarded the medals "For Exemplary Military Service" of the III and II degrees, "Participant of the ATO" and "For Exemplary Service". "He was the best man, a loving father and an exemplary son. A passionate patriot of our Ukraine, who fought for the integrity and sovereignty of the state," said the wife of the fallen warrior, Karina. Viktor was buried on the Alley of Heroes in his native Nikopol. At home, his parents, wife and two daughters were waiting for him.
