Viktor M. Rysenko (Rys)

Sergeant Viktor Risenko (call sign Rys) was killed on January 18, 2023, while defending against the occupiers in the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 26 years old. Viktor was born in the village of Lypova Dolyna, Sumy region. He graduated from the local school. He dreamed of a military career, so in 2016 he joined the army. He served in the training mechanized company of the training mechanized battalion, holding the position of squad commander. He constantly improved his knowledge and skills, underwent retraining, and was an example for other soldiers, which is why he was greatly loved and respected. He then studied at the State Biotechnology University. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Viktor defended Ukraine as part of the 77th separate airmobile brigade of the Airborne Forces. He was a squad commander. "Vitya was always a very positive person. He always knew how to support. Very ambitious and determined, caring and sociable. A person with a big heart!" - said the sister of the deceased, Maria. "We express our sincere condolences to the relatives and loved ones. The bright, kind memory of the valiant Defender of Ukraine will forever remain in our hearts and the memories of his comrades-in-arms, relatives and fellow countrymen! Eternal and bright memory to the Hero!" - noted in the Lypova Dolyna settlement council. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. At home, Viktor was awaited by his parents, sisters and brother.
