Viktor M. Tkach

Soldier Viktor Tkach was killed on January 8, 2023 in a battle with Russian invaders near the city of Soledar in Donetsk Oblast. The defender was 44 years old. Viktor was born in the village of Manykivtsi, Khmilnytskyi Oblast. He studied at the local school. He served his mandatory military service. Then he helped his father on the collective farm. Later, he started going to Kyiv and Russia to work. He worked there in construction and did repairs. But he did not bring back great wealth. He returned to his native land and worked in various places. Before the invasion, he worked at Nova Poshta. In recent years, Viktor was lucky: he met a woman with whom they started living together. She had two children, and Viktor accepted them as his own, loved them, and they loved him too. He was happy to immediately get a full-fledged family, which he had lacked his whole life. And when a granddaughter was born, he poured his whole soul into her. He was also very satisfied with his work at Nova Poshta and took pride in it. He finally felt that his life had come together. He was hardworking and could not sit idle. The family kept a household, and in addition, he was constantly making or repairing something. He had golden hands. Together with his wife, he loved to go fishing, mow hay, walk in nature, and pick mushrooms. The man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on November 21, 2022. After training, he went to defend the Donetsk Oblast. The next day, he had his first battle - for Soledar. On the day of Viktor's death, his comrade saw him fall. Later, their position was captured by the Wagner group. The family thought Viktor was wounded and taken prisoner. The search for the soldier lasted 1.5 months. They accidentally saw him in the Telegram channel "Unidentified Bodies". The family went to identify him in Boyarka, and it was confirmed that these were the bodies exchanged. On March 6, 2023, the defender was buried in his native Manykivtsi. At home, Viktor was awaited by his family, friends, and loved ones.
