Viktor O. Ivashchuk

Viktor Olehovich Ivashchuk was born on March 14, 1995 in Chervonohrad, Lviv region. During 2010-2013, he studied to become a repair mechanic and electric welder at the Chervonohrad Vocational Mining and Construction Lyceum. Later, he repaired vehicles and restored old cars. In 2019, he was a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fought as part of the Joint Forces during the Russian-Ukrainian war in Donbas. In January 2022, Viktor Ivashchuk signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and became a soldier of the 8th separate mountain assault battalion of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade. With the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Viktor fought in the Kyiv region, participated in its liberation, and later took part in battles in the Kharkiv region. After that, he fought in the Donetsk region as part of his unit. He was killed in action with Russian troops near the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, on November 13, 2022. On November 16, 2022, a funeral service and farewell to the fallen soldier took place in the Church of St. Vladimir in Chervonohrad. Viktor Ivashchuk was buried on November 17, 2022.
