Viktor O. Taran (Taran)

Soldier Viktor Taran was killed on September 18, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers in Donetsk region. He was 35 years old. Viktor was born in the village of Dolynyany in Vinnytsia region. He stu and lived in his native village. He loved working the land, so he engaged in agriculture. He loved nature and animals. From 2015 to 2016, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donbas. He then returned to civilian life. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man took up arms again and returned to service. He served in military unit A4038 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of senior rifleman in the rifle platoon. Together with his comrades, he defended his native country from the occupiers at the front. "He had a heightened sense of justice. Kind, empathetic, responsible, and reliable. He never stood aside; he always helped people, his loved ones. An altruist," said the deceased's cousin, Yana. "In the prime of his strength and life... Such is the price of peace and freedom, the price of bringing our victory closer! Viktor was a good person, a good son, husband, father, a brave warrior, a patriot of Ukraine. He covered himself with glory forever, as dying in battle for the homeland is a great honor for a man. The memory of Viktor will live forever in our community, in Ukraine! Eternal glory to the Hero!" stated the Murovanokurylivets Village Council. The defender was buried in his native village. Viktor is survived by his mother Lyudmyla, brother Anatoliy, wife Nadiya, son Artem, and relatives.
