Viktor P. Chornookyi

Sergeant Victor Chornookyi was killed on August 29, 2022, during the offensive of Ukrainian forces in the Kherson region. The warrior was 47 years old. Victor was born in the village of Tyliavka, Ternopil region. He graduated from the Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatyuk. In his free time, he loved to read foreign literature. In 2018, Victor went to serve under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in the Joint Forces Operation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. During the full-scale war, he served in the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. He was the commander of a combat vehicle. "Always smiling, he had his own life position, strictly adhered to it, never stood aside. Victor is a patriot and an example of a true Hero! A person of a beautiful soul, an open and kind heart, has left this life. There are no words to convey the sadness and pain of an irreparable loss. Sincere condolences to the close ones and relatives of the fallen. We share your pain and bow our heads in deep sorrow," wrote the head of the Shumska community, Vadym Boiarskyi. The defender was buried in his native village. Victor is survived by his mother, sister, and son.
