Viktor P. Makhniuk

Warrior Viktor Makhnuk was killed in actionon March 11, 2022, during the defense of Mykolaiv region. He sustained fatal injuries from enemy tank fire while covering his comrades near the village of Novoukrainka. The defender was 40 years old. Viktor Makhnuk was a native of the village of Chetvertinovka, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the local secondary general education school. In civilian life, he worked as a tractor driver at the Vinnytsia poultry farm. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing. In 2015, he participated in the ATO. On February 25, 2022, the man returned to the military and went to war. Viktor fought in the ranks of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Gandzuka. He held the position of senior driver. "He was a good person who always came to help," said the deceased's cousin, Lyudmila Hrinchenko. "Viktor Makhnuk was a true patriot of his country. For all of us, he will remain an example of a true loyal son of the Ukrainian people. Eternal memory to the Hero!" added the Trostyanets community. The hero was buried in his native village. At home, Viktor was awaited by two daughters, a loving family, relatives, and friends.
