Viktor S. Hordiienko (Hordiei)

Military serviceman Viktor Hordiienko (call sign Hordiey) was killed on September 13, 2023 near the village of Dniprovske in the Kherson region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery shelling. In two months, on November 11, the warrior would have turned 35 years old. Viktor was born and lived in Mykolaiv. In 2007, he graduated from the Mykolaiv Vocational Shipbuilding Lyceum named after Hrechyshnykov, and obtained the profession of a car mechanic. He worked at Ecotrans LLC. He got married, very much wanted children, and dreamed that his family would live in peace and comfort. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man joined the ranks of the defenders and went to defend his Homeland from the Russian invaders. He served in the 123rd separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a senior combat medic of the mortar battery. During his service, Viktor was awarded the "Badge of Honor", the medal "Participant of the Territorial Defense of Ukraine" and the Order "For Courage and Bravery" from the All-Ukrainian Association "Country". "He was unbroken and strong in spirit. He put his soul into everything he did. He was a sincere, frank, straightforward person. He always saw things through to the end. He was ready to give his life for his comrades-in-arms - and that's how he was killed, carrying out an order, saving two guys from his battalion... As a beloved husband, he was the best: loving, caring, protecting from all the troubles in life..." - said the wife of the fallen Liubov. The military was buried in the village of Peresadivka in the Mykolaiv region. Viktor left behind a pregnant wife, parents, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
