Viktor V. Bovsh

Grenade launcher operator Viktor Bovsh was killed on May 1, 2023, in a hospital in Dnipro from injuries sustained while performing a combat mission near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. 11 days before his death, he was seriously wounded during an enemy mortar and artillery barrage. The warrior was 50 years old. Viktor was born and lived in the village of Romeiky, Rivne region. He obtained the profession of a locksmith at a vocational school. He worked as a construction worker. He loved to repair equipment. In his free time, he was engaged in sports, was fond of boxing. He was interested in history. During the full-scale invasion, Viktor joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 96th battalion of the 60th separate mechanized brigade. "Dad was a patriot of his country, always active and cheerful. An optimist. We only heard good and positive reviews from all the villagers, comrades-in-arms, and military command. He never quarreled with anyone, had no enemies, but on the contrary - had many friends. It's a pity that the best are dying," said the deceased's daughter Inna. "Energetic, full of dreams and plans for the future, which, unfortunately, will no longer come true... He gave his life for his native land, for the life of every Ukrainian. Unspeakable pain, boundless sorrow, eternal and bright memory of the courageous Hero. Heroes do not die, they remain in our hearts forever! Eternal and bright memory to the Defender of Ukraine!" noted the Polytska community. The defender was buried in his native village. Viktor is survived by his mother, wife, son, daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
