- Sailor Viktor Holovko was killed on October 1, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Davydiv Brid in the Kherson region. The warrior was only 30 years old. Viktor was originally from the Odesa region. He graduated from Tuzliv Boarding School. He was engaged in livestock farming. In his free time, he loved to spend time with his family. He was interested in motorcycle and automotive technology. He loved to read. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in Donbas and later returned to civilian life. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Viktor decided that he had to defend his homeland from the occupiers. He wanted his family to live in a peaceful country. He joined the ranks of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi. He was a marksman and assistant grenade launcher. "My grandson was a true patriot of his country. He carried out combat missions in the ATO zone, then he was discharged. During the full-scale invasion, he went without hesitation as a volunteer to defend his country. He as a hero during a battle, defending the South of our country. He loved Ukraine very much. He was a sincere and kind person with a complicated fate. He dreamed of a happy life after returning from the war, wanting to raise a son and a daughter... Eternal memory! Heroes do not die! We will always remember you, our Hero," wrote the grandmother of the fallen, Melania Panteliyivna. "War takes the best... He longed for peace and protecting his family and Ukraine! We are grateful to him for defending our Ukraine and all of us. This is an irreparable loss for all of Ukraine! Eternal memory to the Hero!" noted the community. The marine was buried in the cemetery of the village of Novoselytsia in the Odesa region. Viktor is survived by his grandmother, aunt, uncle, daughter, and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
