Viktor V. Horetskyi (Hor)

Soldier Viktor Horetskyi (call sign Hor) was killed on December 25, 2022 near the village of Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. The defender was 34 years old. Viktor was born in the village of Chervonyi Step in the Vinnytsia region. He studied at the Holendry school and the Vinnytsia Railway Technical School. He served his military service in Crimea. He worked on the railway and at the Vinnytsia Penitentiary Institution No. 1. He was a fan of football. In 2014-2015, he participated in the ATO in the Donetsk region. He held the position of a reconnaissance officer in the deep reconnaissance company of the 54th separate reconnaissance battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in combat operations. In particular, he defended Debaltseve, for which he received an award. From the first days of the full-scale war, Viktor took up arms again. He fought as part of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. At first he was in the south, and later in the east. "Viktor was an exemplary family man, a loving husband, a wonderful father of a daughter and a son, a support for his parents, a good friend and a patriot of his Homeland," said the wife of the fallen Hanna. Viktor was buried in the village of Holendry in the Vinnytsia region. At home, his wife, two children, relatives and friends were waiting for him.
