Viktor V. Kostiv

51-year-old Sergeant Viktor Kostiv (call sign Dyed) died on October 29, 2022 near the village of Pavlivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he sustained a fatal mine-explosive injury. Viktor was from the city of Berezhany, Ternopil region. He studied at Berezhany School No. 3. He obtained the profession of an artist-conductor at the Mykolaiv Music College. In civilian life, he worked at the local glass factory as a glass products master, and was also a repair master. Later, he worked as a sales consultant at the "KomfortBud" store. On March 6, 2022, the man went to war as a volunteer to protect his country from Russian invaders. He fought in the ranks of the 68th separate Jager brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush, and was a senior rifleman. "Viktor was a loving husband and a wonderful father. A father with a capital letter. He gave all his love and care to the family. He was an extraordinarily bright, sincere and decent person. With the words: "I am your protector" he went as a volunteer," his wife said. Viktor was buried in the village of Rai in the Ternopil region. He left behind his wife Liudmyla and son Serhii. The warrior was posthumously awarded the badge "For Service and Valor" of the III degree.
