- Sergeant Viktor Kovach (call sign West) died on November 6, 2022, in battle near the village of Yakovlivka in the Donetsk region. The defender's life was cut short by an enemy rocket and artillery shelling. The warrior was forever 37 years old. Viktor was originally from Lviv. He lived in Ivano-Frankivsk. He graduated from the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. He worked as a setter in the egg powder production industry. He was interested in history, strategy, and ship modeling. He loved reading books from the "Warhammer" universe and painting figurines. He danced well and loved life. In the future, he wanted to travel more, particularly to take a cruise in the Mediterranean and travel through Switzerland by train with a glass roof. He loved animals, and at home with his wife, they had two dogs and a cat that they found on the street. In 2014-2015, he participated in the ATO, defending the Donetsk airport. On February 24, 2022, he was already at the military enlistment office in the morning, ready to return to the ranks of defenders. Later, he went to war as part of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a combat vehicle commander and a squad commander in the 109th battalion. Together with his comrades, he defended Kyiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions. "We lived together for 12 years, 9 of which were in marriage. He was an incredibly responsible and honest person, respected among his comrades and friends. Always open and cheerful, he helped and saved people and animals both at home and on the front line," said the wife of the fallen soldier. Viktor was buried in the cemetery of the village of Chukalivka in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. At home, the defender was awaited by his mother Valeriya, father Vasyl, sister Liliya, and wife Yuliya.
