- 32-year-old Sergeant Viktor Luzhanskyy (call sign Alvarez) was killed on November 3, 2023 near the village of Serhiivka in the Luhansk region. While retrieving the bodies of fallen comrades, he suffered fatal injuries during enemy shelling. Viktor was born in the village of Hrabove, Odesa region. He completed 9 grades at the Hrabivska general secondary school of I-III levels. He then mastered the profession of painter-plasterer at the Kodymske vocational school. After marriage, he lived with his family in the village of Shershentsi, Odesa region. He worked as an operator of a machine for rewinding stretch film. In his free time, he loved fishing. In 2015-2016, he participated in the ATO. On February 25, 2022, the man took up arms again and went to defend his Homeland. Viktor served in military unit 1551 of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He held the position of operator of unmanned aerial vehicles in the border service inspection department of the 2nd border detachment of the 1st border service department (type C) of the 3rd border rapid response commando. "He replaced everyone for me. He was not only the best loving husband and father, but also a wonderful son, brother, friend, godfather, comrade and just a very good person. We still can't believe he's no longer with us..." said the widow of the deceased, Svitlana. The border guard was buried in his native village. Viktor is survived by his parents, wife, son and two daughters. His youngest daughter Marharyta was born a month after his death.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
