Viktor V. Pelykh

49-year-old Staff Sergeant Viktor Pelykh died on November 16, 2022, from injuries sustained the day before near the village of Tarasa Shevchenka in the Kherson region. During the execution of a combat mission, the vehicle crew consisting of four defenders was blown up on an enemy mine. At the last moment, Viktor managed to turn the steering wheel of the car, saving his comrades. Viktor was born in the city of Zolotonosha, Cherkasy region. He graduated from school No. 6, then from vocational school No. 40. He was passionate about technology and cars, so he did not hesitate long in choosing his future profession. He worked as a long-distance truck driver. He was well-versed in cars and could repair any part. He also loved fishing. Since 2014, he has participated in the ATO in Donbas, repeatedly being awarded. During the full-scale war, Viktor fought for Ukraine in the ranks of the 61st Separate Mechanized Steppe Brigade. He carried out tasks at the front line together with his comrades, dreaming more than anything to return home and believing in victory. "The best husband and father. I know that he is always by my side, my Vitya has become an angel for us who protects us with his wings. Not among us, but always with us... In our hearts, memories, thoughts. And for the sake of our future, he gave the most precious - his life! The only thing I want now is to destroy the enemies without mercy, without pain and remorse. I hope we will kick them all out to the last one. How many lives and destinies they have destroyed. There is no forgiveness for them. I believe that the guys will avenge my Vitya," said the wife of the fallen soldier. The warrior was buried on the Alley of Glory in his hometown. At home, Viktor was awaited by his wife Marina and daughter Lisa.
