Viktor V. Velma (Vidma)

24-year-old Sergeant Viktor Velma (call sign Witch) was killed on February 26, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defender's life was cut short by an enemy FPV drone. Viktor was born in the village of Shypuvate in the Kharkiv region. He completed 11 grades at the local school. He then studied at the Kharkiv Vocational Lyceum of Railway Transport. He remained living in Kharkiv, working as a security guard. In September 2022, Viktor joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in the 3rd Brigade of Operational Designation. He held the position of mechanic-driver. "Viktor was a good person, he always joked, and you could talk to him about anything. He always came to help if something happened. He lived in a way that made everyone around him smile and forget about their problems! He was the best brother! The war took away our dearest..." - said his sister Svitlana. The National Guard soldier was buried in the Alley of Glory cemetery in Kharkiv. Viktor is survived by his grandmother, brothers, and sisters.
