- Junior Sergeant Viktor Voitko (call sign Volyn) was killed on October 12, 2023 in a battle with the occupiers in the area of the village of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region. He was 29 years old. Viktor was born in the village of Serkhiv, Volyn region. In 2015, he graduated from the National Academy of Internal Affairs with a degree in "Law Enforcement" and obtained the qualification of an operative officer and inspector of the internal affairs bodies. In 2016, he obtained a law degree from the same university. After graduation, he worked in the police. From a young age, he was passionate about sports, loved playing football, and practiced boxing. In his free time, he studied the laws of Ukraine, as he really enjoyed it. During the full-scale war, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his native lands from the enemy. He served in the 5th Separate Assault Brigade. He was the commander of the assault squad. "Viktor was a loving son and brother, he protected and cared for his younger brother and sister. He was a very brave person, he was not afraid of anything in life. When he went to war, he believed he would return, and we prayed all the time. He was a true warrior, a patriot, an example of indomitability and courage. He wanted his family to live in a wonderful, egalitarian country. We are proud to have such a brother and son. I miss my brother and his guidance in adult life..." - said the deceased's sister Oksana. The warrior was buried in his native village. At home, Viktor was awaited by his parents, brother, sister, and girlfriend. The hero was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree and the distinction of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
