- Soldier Viktor Zdybel (call sign Skif) was killedon February 21, 2023 near the village of Chervonopopivka in the Luhansk region. While repelling the enemy's offensive, he sustained shrapnel and explosive injuries as a result of enemy artillery fire. He would have turned 49 in a month. Viktor was born and lived in Khmilnytskyi. After school, he obtained the profession of a gas equipment repair and maintenance mechanic at Khmilnytskyi Vocational School No. 8. In 1992-1994, he served in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. In 1995-2000, he served in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the criminal investigation department. In parallel, he studied by correspondence at the Khmilnytskyi University of Economics and Entrepreneurship, majoring in manager-economist. Since 2001, he has worked in various fields at private enterprises in Khmilnytskyi. On July 27, 2022, Viktor voluntarily went to defend the independence of Ukraine. He joined the ranks of the 19th separate rifle battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a machine gun squad leader. "I am proud of the strength of spirit, steadfastness, courage and dedication of my father to the military oath. According to his comrade-in-arms, my father never avoided combat missions during his 8 months of service at the front and was an example for them. In 8 months, we managed to see each other only once, when he came on leave before his death. We will not forget, we will not forgive... Eternal memory to the Heroes!" - said the warrior's daughter Karina. Viktor was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in the Rakove microdistrict in his hometown. At home, his mother and daughter were waiting for the defender. He was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Khmilnytskyi Territorial Community".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
