Viktor Ye. Polonskyi (Kuliaha)

Military serviceman Victor Polonsky (call sign Kulyaha) was killed in action on April 21, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Zarichne in Donetsk region. The warrior was 33 years old. Victor was from Cherkasy. He grew up in the "Vesna" neighborhood, graduated from local school No. 24. In peaceful life, he worked for 8 years in Poland. He played for the local football team. When the full-scale Russian invasion began, he returned to Ukraine and stood up for its defense. He was the commander of the platoon of fire support in the airborne assault company of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. "In our memory, he will always remain kind, bright, sincere, loving, athletic, incredibly cheerful, and a true Ukrainian warrior," wrote Deputy Director of the Department of Social Policy of the Cherkasy City Council Igor Voloshin. Victor was buried in his hometown. He is survived by his mother, father, and sister. In honor of Victor Polonsky, a street in Cherkasy was renamed after him.
