Viktoriia V. Darii (Vidma)

Sergeant Victoria Darii (call sign Witch) was killed on July 30, 2023, while performing her official duties in the Orikhiv area of Zaporizhzhia region. The soldier was killed under the rubble of a building as a result of a hostile air strike on the location of the unit's headquarters. 9 days before this, the defender would have turned 52 years old. Victoria was born in Hirske, Luhansk region. She obtained the profession of a cook at a vocational school. She worked in her specialty in schools and restaurants. She loved needlework and made a lot of exhibition products for Harska Comprehensive Gymnasium No. 12. Her works were taken around the region, where they took prize-winning places in competitions. Shortly before her death, she enrolled at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, choosing the specialty of a military psychologist, but she did not manage to complete her studies. Since 2019, the woman has served in the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the full-scale invasion, she was transferred to the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura". She took the position of the commander of the technical support platoon of the mechanized battalion. "Mommy... I didn't think it would happen so soon. I can't imagine life without you. You were my whole world. Unfortunately, there are very few people like you, and there was only one like you. My family and I were very lucky to have someone like you - cheerful, smiling, beautiful, eternally young both outwardly and in soul, determined, with character, not afraid to tell the truth, wise and cunning, breakthrough Victoria-Victory. All your life you lived for the family, protected everyone, helped. You always united the family, never let us sit still, charged us with positivity and boundless love. You were not only my Mom, but also a second Mom to many of my relatives! You also lived for service. You breathed it, it was your calling. You could talk for hours about the service and how great your boys were... Mommy, I'm proud of you and have always been proud. You were an example for me, you are a Warrior not only in life, but also in the soul. You will remain in our hearts forever. "Witches don't age" - your motto for life... You were and will be for us like a Phoenix. And I believe that you, like the Phoenix, having turned to ashes, will flare up and be reborn! Like the Phoenix, you have spread your wings and flown! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes! Glory to Victoria! Glory to Mommy! Witches don't age!" - wrote Yulia Darii. The defender was buried at the Tairove cemetery in Odesa. She dreamed of living in this city, so they decided to bury her there. Victoria left behind a daughter, sister, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
