Vitalii A. Hazhiienko (Vitamin)

31-year-old soldier Vitaliy Hazhiyenko (call sign Vitamin) was killed on November 1, 2022, near the village of Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region. He suffered a fatal explosive injury in a battle with the occupiers. Vitaliy was born in Poltava. He lived with his family in the village of Martynivka. He graduated from the Poltava Technical College of the National Technical University. He pursued higher education at the NTU "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute." He worked as a driver at a private enterprise. In the early days of the full-scale war, he became a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the ranks of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade. He was a driver. Together with his comrades, he defended the eastern front. "My husband was a kind and reliable person, a wonderful father, a true support in life, a loyal friend. We miss him very much..." said Oksana Hazhiyenko. Vitaliy was buried in the village of Martynivka in Poltava region. At home, he was awaited by his mother, wife, two children, and sister. Posthumously, the paratrooper was awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
