Vitalii A. Huliaiev

Vitaliy Anatoliyovych Huliaiev was born on May 26, 1978. Since 1995, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. With the outbreak of the war in the East in 2014, he was at the front. As of 2018, Vitaliy Huliaiev, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, headed the 13th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. Subsequently, Vitaliy Huliaiev served in the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. Later, he held the position of Chief of Staff of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade, and in September 2021 he was appointed commander of the 28th Brigade. He graduated from the master's program at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (Starobilsk). He was awarded the "Kholodnyi Yar" distinction. Since February 2022, with the beginning of the full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, Vitaliy Huliaiev, at the head of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade, was at the forefront, stopping the advance of Russian troops in southern Ukraine. He was killed on July 23, 2022, as a result of a missile strike on a command post on the outskirts of Mykolaiv. The farewell to Vitaliy Huliaiev took place on July 26, 2022, at the Military Academy in Odesa.
