Vitalii A. Humeniuk (Ispanets)

Senior Lieutenant Vitaliy Humenyuk on May 27, 2022, as a result of a severe injury he sustained on May 18 in the combat zone. The officer was 23 years old. Vitaliy was born in Khmelnytskyi Oblast. After school, he chose a military career and entered the Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy in Lviv. After graduation, he held the position of commander of a platoon of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. From the first day of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops, Vitaliy Humenyuk was on the hottest directions. He performed combat tasks in Sumy and Chernihiv Oblasts. Further - Donbas, the city of Popasna and the city of Bakhmut, where the enemy concentrated significant offensive forces. On May 18, Vitaliy and his comrades came under enemy fire and received severe injuries. Doctors fought for the life of the warrior, but on May 27, his heart stopped beating. Vitaliy was a lover of life. He was fond of football - played for the team of the National Army Academy and for the team of the 8th separate special forces regiment from Khmelnytskyi. According to relatives and friends, he was a bright person with a great and sincere soul, an open and brave heart. The hero was buried in his native Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Vitaliy left behind his parents, brother, and wife. He was also waiting for the birth of his first child and wanted him to grow up in a free Ukraine.\
